Skylark was founded in 2015 at the intersection of artistry and strategy—creating events that spark wonder and connection.

The company’s vision reflects the spirit of founder Kate Sullivan Nelson, whose passion for storytelling—and early immersion in New Orleans’ vibrant performance culture—inspired her to bring that same joy and intention to live events. Guided by the city’s music, pageantry, and uninhibited flair for celebration, she set out to infuse meaning and magic into gatherings across the DMV and beyond.

From the outset, Kate envisioned Skylark as more than an entertainment agency but a creative collective—a thoughtfully curated network of world-class artists, producers, and visionaries at the top of their respective fields. Each project brings together a bespoke team whose talent, precision, and artistry ensure extraordinary results.
